SBLAC Marquee

We recently received our replacement marquee. Looks a treat if you ask me!

Our Registrar Naomi is at the marquee every week to help with registrations, uniform sales and to answer any questions you may have. So stop by the factory end of John Landy Field and say hello.

Next up will be the replacement of the club sign!

2020/21 GLAC Committee

In May 2020 GLAC will be holding their Annual General Meeting. There will be a lot of committee positions available due to existing committee members leaving Little Athletics as their children transition to Seniors.

It is vitally important that these positions are filled before the start of the 2020/21 season otherwise the centre will not be able to operate.

We have a lot of families attending Little Athletics – if you feel you can help out in any way please let either a member of the SBLAC or GLAC committee know.

GLAC Committee positions can be shadowed during the remainder of the season so you know what to expect when the 2020/21 season commences. This is a way to assist with the transition of positions rather than having a hard cut-over.

Positions available for the 2020/21 season are:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Special Events Coordinator
  • Registrar
  • Coaching Coordinator
  • Chief Official
  • Records
  • Results Coordinator
  • On Track Coordinator
  • Equipment Coordinator
  • Event Manager
  • Western Metro Region (WMR) Representative
  • Newsletter/Social Media Coordinator

Club Uniforms

GLAC have noted that this season has been the worst for members not abiding by uniform rules (including COLES badges).

The correct Club Uniform must be worn when competing. Check theĀ Uniforms page for details of SBLAC uniform.

COLES badges must be attached to the singlet/top (right hand side, above the LAVic logo if present) – this is LAVic policy.

Uniform

If you do not have correct uniform or a COLES badge please speak to Naomi at the club tent on Saturday.

NOTE: Athletes in incorrect uniform (including missing COLES badges or competition bibs) may be excluded from competing.

Code of Conduct

GLAC have asked that we remind all members of the Code of Conduct, especially around leaving children at Landy Field.

There have been a few children dropped off or catching a bus to Landy Field to compete on their own with no adult supervision which is something all clubs and members need to be aware of and address.

Whilst older children may not feel they require supervision or a parent present we have a duty of care for that child if something goes wrong. It is vital that a parent/guardian is present or that you have arranged for another adult to take responsibility for the child if you are not there.

Duty Roster

Here’s the draft Duty Roster for the remainder of the Track & Field season.

Please contact John Sprunt (email or text) to confirm your availability.

NOTE: We have two Twilight events – Friday 24th January & Saturday 8th February. Both will run from 5:00-9:00pm.
