Week 5, 2024-25

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone back at Goldsworthy Reserve this weekend, for the first of our Sunday morning sessions. South Barwon is on set-up duty this week, so it’d be great if as many of our families as possible could arrive by 8:15am to lend a hand. The more people we have, the quicker we can get things done, and all be ready for first calls at 8:45am.

This week’s events

The program order has been shifted around a bit this season to accomodate volunteer availability. This week we will be running our Program 1 events (see below) and the following week will be Program 3.

Coles Community Round

This week is Coles Community Round, acknowledging Coles’ ongoing support of Little Athletics. Be sure to have your Coles patches on your uniform t-shirts and feel free to add a bit of extra red and white to your normal South Barwon uniforms to help us celebrate this community event.

Volunteers

Thanks to everyone who has put their name down on our volunteering roster so far. This week’s volunteers are:

  • Back straight: Jimmy Javni (chief), Hannah Carson, Anna Gundry, Harley Bailey
  • Long jump 1: Brad McDougall (cheif), Andrew Miles, Kristen Patel, Justin Mason
  • Long jump 2: Adam Wilkinson (chief), Candice Honey, Rory Flynn, Karl Waddell
  • OnTrackers coordinator: Fiona Kaiser

Each month, the parents and carers who have completed a volunteer shift will be put into a draw to win a $50 voucher from out sponsor, Fisherman’s Pier Restaurant.

Uniforms

Pre-ordered hoodies and hats are still in production, but if you are wanting to collect other pre-ordered South Barwon uniform or buy shorts/hats, please visit the South Barwon table before 10.30am this week.

Please remember to bring your competition bib as there will now be a $10 charge for reprints. Some suggestions from our parents are: leaving it in the car, keeping it in your South Barwon shoe bag or even pinning it straight back on uniform singlets as soon as they come out of the wash!

Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday!
