A condition of your child’s registration is for a member of your family to attend a minimum of 3 duties per season, per child. If you have more than one child, then we ask you to choose an emergency role per additional child.
Our club is responsible for providing Chiefs and volunteers each week for:
- Back Straight finish/timing (3 people – Chief, finish marshal and recording),
- 2 x 400m manual timers (where applicable),
- 2 x Long Jump pits (each requires a Chief and 3 volunteers to assist with raking the pits, measuring jumps and recording results)
- 3 x emergencies, to relieve volunteers if their child is competing, toilet breaks, or last minute absentee
We also provide:
- 1 x Walks Judge
- 1 x Starter
Chiefs, Judges and Starters are all trained. If you aren’t trained, there are lots of easy roles that you can choose from.
Choosing duties is easy. Simply select the dates you wish to attend using our Volunteer Portal:
Please check in at the club table on Saturday mornings to get your volunteer vest and place your coffee order. You will be directed to the Chief on the duty you have chosen and will be given instructions on what to do.
